By constantly researching new, effective , and safe techniques and technology, I can offer my patients better services and better results. I have recently been researching micro needling which is based on ancient principles. Small needle punctures are made into the skin that causes an inflammatory reaction which ultimately leads to a healing phase. This phase benefits the skin by stimulating growth factors, new collagen and elastic fibers. The result is more youthful appearing skin. we can exploit these small punctures which open up channels into the skin by adding topical medicines that can now penetrate the skin layers increasing their benefits. Agents that promote healing, scar reduction, pigment changes can now be introduced into the skin to enhance results. anti aging agents are also available that improve fine wrinkles. I use the Dermapen which is an excellent device that uses 11 micro needles that actually puncture the skin. Other devices use rollers that cannot precisely create the openings in the skin like Dermapen can. This device allows precise depth of penetration of the needles as well as the speed they are placed. Each area of the face, neck and chest have varying thickness and rollers cannot offer such precision. Dermapen accuracy allows for treatment of acne scars and other scarring from surgery or trauma. Again the variability of depth is essential to yield effective results.
I am also importing topical agents from Australia that will be one of the first practices in the country to do so. We will be combining these agents with the Dermapen, but soon will be using it with a more precise high speed delivery device that I will disclose in September!
